Based north of Boston, Tag End Studios is a moderately ambitious name for an enterprise that consists of one artist (me).  I'm a part-time artist with a current focus on creating watercolor paintings of various species of both freshwater and saltwater fish. 

 

All of the artwork available for sale on this site are original pieces, as I don't offer prints of my work. That might change in the future, but personally, I enjoy things that are unique and hand-made so I'm going with this lower output approach for now.

My painting style is to work on several versions of a particular fish at one time. This allows me to experiment with slightly different colors, shapes and shading. Note that as a result of this approach, you may see paintings that look similar listed on my website - but know that each one is an original. Also, my aim is not to create detailed scientific renderings (there are people with far more talent covering that area), however I do pay attention to the anatomy of each species, general proportions, and natural coloration - so you won't find an extra dorsal fin or completely random color tossed in just for effect.

I can't promise I'll create it immediately, but I'm always interested to hear what folks are looking for.
